Dr. Callia was born and raised in Kansas City and graduated from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry in 2000 with his DDS and graduated with honors in oral surgery.  He then went to Baylor College of Dentistry, where he received his masters degree in oral biology and a specialty certificate in Periodontics and Dental Implants in 2003.  He is a member of American Academy of Periodontology, American Dental Association, Texas Dental Association, Capital Area Dental Society, Central Texas Dental Society, and the Academy of Osseointegration.

He continues to improve his own knowledge by pursuing continuing education classes and he is an approved presenter for the Academy of General Dentistry’s Program Approval for Continuing Education, also known as PACE.  He uses his position with PACE to provide lectures and seminars for other dental professionals on a variety of topics, from dental implants to soft tissue esthetics. His focus has been on giving back to the dental profession by providing continuing education on topics he thinks are important for the area dental community and Central Texas Periodontics puts on monthly CE courses.

He has been married to his wife, Neda, for over 20 years and they have 2 daughters, Kaitlyn and Roya, plus 2 goldendoodles, Remy and Kelce. Outside of work, his passion is music and has been playing guitar since he was 10 years old. These days, he plays guitar in his band, Guns & Oil, who continually record music and play live in the clubs and bars around the Austin area.  His family loves to hike, and this passion has taken them from Washington state to Colorado hiking many challenging trails.  They also hike at least a few weekends a month around the many Austin area hiking trails. His favorite hobby is woodworking, especially using wood and epoxy to make tables and other wood art projects.
