US ARMY ADVANCED EDUCATION PROGRAM
MEDICAL COLLEGE OF GEORGIA
I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself as the newest team member of Central Texas Periodontics and express my excitement for this coming year. I have a deep passion for the profession, and for Central Texas Periodontics vision for patient centered care. We hope to share our vision with you as well.
I am originally from Tampa, Florida where I completed my undergraduate studies, before attending The University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine. Early on in my dental education the rich, biologic, and evidence based foundation of periodontics made a strong impact on me. After spending three years serving our soldiers as a military Dentist in South Korea, I completed my residency training through the US Army Advanced Education Program in Periodontics in Augusta, GA, and simultaneously received a Masters degree in Oral Biology from the Medical College of Georgia. I was then redeployed to South Korea for an additional two years, as only one of two military periodontists, where I attended to all the periodontal and dental implant needs of approximately thirty thousand U.S. service members.
The military brought me back to Texas, where I am currently practicing periodontics, and teaching residents at the 2-yr Advanced Education in General Dentistry program at Fort Hood. I am excited to be living in the greatest state in the U.S, where kind greetings, warm weather, and the best barbecue are a daily way of life. I plan to settle in the Austin area permanently next year after finishing a life changing and immensely rewarding nine-year military career.
